Valle Escondido RESORT Presents
The Wheel Of Life
The Wheel turns, the water awakens and the soul remembers.
History & Vision
A 100-Year Legacy
Just a few steps from us rests an old dam built in 1925, a silent witness to Boquete’s first hydroelectric efforts. For decades, this stone wall stood as a symbol of ingenuity and self-sufficiency.
In 2001, visionary Sam Taliaferro imagined reviving this energy. Today, that vision is reborn not just as a power source, but as “The Wheel of Life”: a hydraulic water wheel built to honor the past, but designed to inspire the present.
The Manifesto of Values
Eight virtues hand-carved in almond wood turn eternally, reminding us of the pillars of a conscious life.
FAITH
Believing in what is not yet seen.
HOPE
The certainty that the sun will rise again.
CHARITY
Love in selfless action.
STRENGTH
Resilience in the face of adversity.
PRUDENCE
The wisdom to act at the right moment.
JUSTICE
Giving everyone what they deserve.
TEMPERANCE
Balance and self-control.
LOVE
The most powerful force in the universe.
"This too shall pass"
It tells you: hold on a little longer. Breathe. Don’t make decisions from the abyss.
Return to your center. What feels heavy today won’t weigh the same forever. But when everything is going well, “this too shall pass” teaches you humility: don’t cling, don’t believe yourself invincible—be grateful, because life changes.
